Yep, we finally have pictures of the Ataribox but we still have no idea what it is exactly. Following in the wake of a 20 second E3 announcement, the game developer and publisher now seems more than ready to bring back their console department in a big way very soon. Officially here’s what they had to say “our objective is to create something new, that stays true to our heritage, while appealing to both old and new fans of Atari.” And that statement right there just makes everything a bit more confusing but nonetheless exciting, you can color us intrigued.
Could we be seeing something along the lines of an NES Classic but with a more expansive array of titles? That might be the case but who knows what the content will be because all we have are a handful of pictures. So what you see is literally what you get as the house responsible for the 2600, 5200 and Jaguar stands poised to dive into the market again. There are a lot of questions but we know there are two versions of it, one with a wood front the other with black glass. It also has as SD card slot, four USB Ports and an HDMI port.
So what do you think about all this? Can you see yourself buying Atari again? Are you ready for retro gaming with a twist?
