When it comes to the Extended Universe for DC and their movie line there’s a lot of currently in-development projects. But one of the ones that we here at SnapPow.com have been most excited about is currently in limbo but we have an update for Justice League Dark! According to Deadline the execs have begun their search again for a director! You may remember that Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) was set in the chair until he left to focus on another flick and then it was rumored that Andy Muschietti (It) was the successor but no dice. Even so don’t worry because Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) has been brought in to polish the script, so at least there’s that tidbit until we hear more.
All we know so far is that the cast is rumored to be made up of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan the Demon. In other words characters that we all want to see on the big screen and maybe, for a couple of them, done right this time. Here’s the thing I think the heads at the studio thought they had their Guardians of the Galaxy feature with Suicide Squad but they’d be wrong. What made GOTG what it was happened to be the fact that it felt wholly unique but still existed in the landscape of the MCU. That’s what Justice League Dark could be, as you have something focusing directly on the supernatural corners of a universe now full of gods but ready for more monsters.
But what do you think? Will you watch this movie? Who should direct it? Do they need BatFleck to save it?
