Movie News

A new image from the set of Ant-Man and The Wasp has surfaced online, showing Evangeline Lilly in full hero glory. It appeared on reddit and shows what seems to be Lilly stepping out of her fancy trailer. Given the ‘heist film’ vibe it could just as easily be a quick action shot of our heroine in a getaway vehicle. The tracking dots on her helmet indicate that parts of her costume will be CGI and enhanced in post-production. Part of me wonders if her helmet may come with a targeting system to work with her signature “wasp’s stings.”

No new details on the overall plot have surfaced yet but many speculate that the sequel could further explore Hank Pym and the tragic loss of his wife Janet after her disappearance in the Quantum Realm. Renowned actress Michelle Pfeiffer has signed on to play the original Wasp, so a significant flashback or two (maybe three) is the least we expect to see throughout the film. If you’ve seen Pfeiffer or Douglas in their heyday, you know they’ll have no problem bringing the spirit of Marvel’s original power couple to the big screen.

But what do you think? Are you eager to see how this movie shakes out? Or not?

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Peña as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Judy Greer as Maggie, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. The duo is due to arrive July 6th, 2018.
