Movie News

What did I just watch? If you’ve been on the fence about the idea of a Pacific Rim sequel then the first trailer for Uprising may very well change your mind. Giving us an epic display of what the new Jaegers are capable of, as well as some good old fashioned Kaiju action, this latest clip does a fantastic job of teasing this new film. It also does a tremendous job of introducing us to the various new characters with there being a nasty surprise for our heroes at the tail end of this trailer. But don’t just take our word for it, check out the trailer for yourself below!

The globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising.

What I love most about this trailer is that it doesn’t waste time in showing us what to expect from this sequel. Now that isn’t to say that we aren’t left wondering how our heroes will approach this threat, with there being plenty to speculate over as we await its March 28, 2018 release. During this we are also given a taste of how John Boyega (Jake Pentecost) will shape up in the lead role, with the talent who’s playing the son of Idris Elba‘s character from the first instalment showing strong leadership qualities in his own right.

But what do you think? Are you excited for this sequel? Or is it unnecessary?

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…. there lived a nerd. And as we all know, nerds are cool. Anyway, enough of that. I’m John, your Friendly Neighborhood Managing Editor, and I’ll be doing my best to give you the best nerd content on the web. And why? Because you deserve it. Having been a comic fan and all round geek for as long as I remember, loving Batman, Star Wars and various other forms of fandom, I have certainly had my share of opinions. Naturally I eventually starting writing about this love, whether it be rant or rave, enjoying every minute in the process.
